About the event
The Symphony Choir of Johannesburg and the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra conducted by Richard Cock present Brahms Requiem at the Linder Auditorium this October. Johannes Brahms (7 May 1833 – 3 April 1897) was a German composer and pianist of the Romantic period. He is often grouped with the likes of Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven as one of the “Three Bs” of classical music. Brahms composed his Requiem between 1865 – 1868, shortly after the deaths of his beloved mother and friend Robert Schumann. Don’t miss out on this performance by the Symphony Choir of Johannesburg and the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra. Maestro Richard Cock is sure to lead the performers in a delightful symphony of sound and voice. With Magdalene Minnaar (soprano) and Aubrey Lodewyk (baritone)
